Geothermal energy. |
|
Geothermal energy has been in use by humans for thousands of years. Now with today's understandings and modern technology we can find cost effective ways to harness this renewable energy. Now , a simple way of explaining how you can use this energy is…….you can absorb the ground temperature and run it through a heat pump that in turn heats and cools your home for cents a day. Make know mistake these types of systems have been around for a very long time and are exceptional great. How drilling a well comes in to the equation here is simple, we drill a well to a certain depth or until we hit a good source of water and then we decide “are we going to use the water, ( because water is in the ground and therefore has a temp of 60 degrees it can be used for heat exchange), or are we going to use the depth of the hole”. Those are the two system used mostly. A closed loop system has a looped pipe that goes down a couple hundred feet in the ground. A radiant fluid goes down the pipe to the bottom and then back up to the top to the ground source heat pump. An open loop system is where you pump the water out of the ground and then through a water source heat pump. Both of these ways take the temperature from the water or ground and use it to heat and cool your home. If you already have a water well or are going to need one drilled for home use then the water source heat pump is the way to go. Please call us for more info and let us help you start saving.
